Etchells’ audio installation Wood Work comprises a collage and layering of recorded fragments in which several people are running in an outdoor location.
Footsteps on earth, uneasy breathing, sudden stops, the sound of birds and occasional voices all loop and layer, switching from one speaker to another to disorientating effect.

First commissioned for Latitude Contemporary Art, the work was shown in a wooded area on the Latitude festival site, with the speakers installed in the trees.
